« Back to Glossary IndexTo refer to someone, especially a transgender person, using a word that does not correctly reflect their gender identity. For example, referring to a trans man as “she”. This could be done on purpose or by accident, but misgendering someone (particularly a trans person) can be very harmful and contribute to feelings of gender dysphoria.
