20 Oct Founder of Back On Track Teens Wins Runner-Up for Inspiration In Education
On the 6th of October 2022, Back On Track Teens Founder, TeeJay Dowe won runner-up at the Your Heroes Awards for the Inspiration In Education Award.
After spotting a nomination link to the awards, Sophie Simmonds forwarded a link to colleague Pam Green and together they decided to nominate TeeJay for her endless dedication to the young people in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
Sophie, who is TeeJay’s apprentice, was inspired to nominate TeeJay after she helped Sophie transform her own life; “Working with TeeJay at Back on Track Teens and Spark To Your Success has changed my outlook on life. TeeJay is truly an inspiration,” stated Sophie. “TeeJay brings a unique approach to education and training by developing the confidence, self-worth and positive mindset of all she teaches in an inspiring and proactive way.”
Because of this, TeeJay was shortlisted for the Inspiration In Education category. The award recognises a local education institution or professional for their inspirational work in the past year.
Held at the Double Tree Hotel in Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire University and the Community Foundation for Staffordshire sponsored the event.
The aim of the awards night was to highlight and celebrate the unsung heroes of the communities throughout Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
Sophie and Pam wanted to shine a spotlight on TeeJay’s selfless commitment and hard work to supporting young people, and her ability and vision to enrich the lives of so many others in the community. Over the years, TeeJay has worked with tens of thousands of young people from three years old up to adults in their ninties, empowering the lives of young people, no matter who they are.
By nominating TeeJay, Sophie and Pam hope this accolade will continue to celebrate the work of Back On Track Teens and raise awareness for the incredible work that TeeJay does there.
